Iodinol is a solution for topical and external use. It has cleansing properties and a bactericidal effect on both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, as well as pathogenic fungi and yeasts, with particular activity against streptococcal flora and E. coli. It is an iodine-containing cleansing. Polyvinyl alcohol, a high-molecular blend, slows the release of iodine and prolongs its interaction with body tissues; it also reduces iodine's irritating effect on tissues. The product is low in toxicity.
Indications: chronic tonsillitis, chronic purulent otitis, chronic atrophic rhinitis, chronic periodontitis, purulent wounds, trophic and varicose skin ulcers, first- and second-degree thermal and chemical burns.
