OXOLIN OINTMENT is used for avoidance of influenza and the support of viral rhinitis.

Antiviral agent for nasal use.

It has antiviral activity against the influenza virus, blocking the binding sites of the virus to the surface of the cell membrane and avoidance the reproduction of the virus in cells.

Viruses of Herpes simplex, herpes zoster, adenoviruses, viruses of irritation warts and molluscum contagiosum are also sensitive to the action of dioxo tetrahydro tetrahydronaphthalene.

When applied to the mucous membrane, up to 20% of the product is absorbed. It does not accumulate in the body and is excreted mainly by the kidneys during the day.
